3. All the many boot options, sweaters, scarves, jackets, and beanies. I love warm clothes and layering so much!
4. In Albuquerque, NM we have the Balloon Fiesta every October. It's an amazing sight to see and experience.
5. Eating pumpkin Pie with a dollop of whip cream of course.
6. Watching the foliage change from green to oranges, reds, and browns. So beautiful!
7. Decorating my house for fall!
This is my favorite time of the year to decorate!
More than any other time in the year, this is the time I love the most and it most definitely carries into Christmas. I love to add a touch of the season all around our home. It brings warmth and really makes our house feel like a home. I strive to make my home a place of comfort where others feel loved and accepted. It's such a delightful experience to see what unfolds.
Here are a few of the things I have made
and put together this fall ya'll.
Just a few of the things I started out with. I have been accumulating things for a couple years and I like to find DIY projects I can do myself. I bought everything I needed from the dollar store and Hobby Lobby, which has all their fall decor at 40% off.
My first project was a MASON JAR WALL SCONE
-Mason Jar Hanging set
(I bought these at Hobby Lobby or Under $2 each)
I love the final product. And I can change out the flowers with the changing seasons.
Then I made a fall inspired wreath. I used the wreath that I had from last Christmas and took off things and added new items.
For the outside, I used things I already had around the house or from previous fall decor. I only bought two extra items from the dollar store. Tulle and fake leaves.
I would've like to use a crate but found an old stump in the backyard and used it for the base. In a week or so I plan on getting pumpkins outside also. Love how it looks at night with the twinkling lights.
This was a fairly simple and project and again I used everything I already had. It requires one book that you don't need. I used an old book I found and cut out a shape of a pumpkin and just started cutting away. I hot glued it together to make the shape and added a stem and ribbon.
My last project was a wall collage I've been wanting to do for so long. I rearranged items from around my house and just got creative. I made a few things and added old and new. It's now my favorite thing in my house.
What do you think?
UPDATE: I had a diy night with my sisters and we each picked a project we liked and got enough supplies to make three each. So we all took 3 items home when we finished. Another plus, I came up with a random craft out of just wire and ribbon. Check it out below.
This was my sister Alyssa's project she picked. They came out so cute. Loved them! All she had us do was cute out a leaf on adhesive paper then stick it to a mason jar. We then painted them, peeled off stickers when they dried and filled with corn kernels and cut little fall candles and decorated with different corn husk ribbons.
Next Amy's project was just some candle jars and we modge podged fake leaves on. That's it, super easy. Looks so cute when the candle is lit inside.
My DIY project was mason jar lid pumpkins. I love how they all came out! First we spray painted the lids orange. Then we figured how many lids we needed for each pumpkin, came out to 24 lids each. We tied them tightly together with yarn and filled the middle with cinnamon sticks. We then just hot glued ribbon, fake leaves and added little touches with whatever we had. We all added our own personal touches. So cute and I love anything to do with mason jars.
And lastly I came up with this random craft.
So we had orange wire and I was just playing with it, I opened it and started forming it and it started looking
like a pumpkin. It looked so cute and i added some string and some extra little pieces from some fall floral arrangements we had and Voila'. Tiny little wire pumpkins.
I have one more project I'm working on and I already added a few things but I'd like your help and your eye. What do you think I can add to make it more full and fall looking?
You set the mood of your home. Remember "HAPPY WIFE HAPPY LIFE" haha . But seriously little changes, littles touches here in there help make your house into a home. Add you own unique flavor and flare and know it doesn't have to cost a lot. Sometimes its the simplest things that are the most beautiful.
